Good Scents Flowers will ship dahlia tuber orders beginning April 1st, via USPS 2-day Priority. Orders will be shipped in the order received, except that warmer-weather states will be prioritized, weather permitting. We don't offer early shipping, because the eyes are mostly not visible while being stored at 44 degrees in our cooler, and we don't want to guess and send out tubers that are not going to grow. Also, there is the chance of the tubers freezing in transit. We pay for 2-day priority shipping, but sometimes USPS still takes 6 days to get it there, and then it may sit in someone's mailbox for a day or two. Heat packs are only good for 48-72 hr. We can offer in-farm pickup in early March if you are local.
Re-stocking Fee
If an order is shipped to the address provided by the buyer and is returned by the Post office or the order is refused/returned to us for any reason, a 15% re-stocking fee will apply before a refund is issued – shipping/handling charges are non-refundable. If an order needs re-shipped, shipping/handling charges will apply.
Lost Package
If your order tracking shows that your package has been delivered, please take the tracking number provided in the shipment email to your local Post Office for assistance locating your package. Many times a package will be incorrectly marked delivered but taken back to the Post Office for pickup as your mail delivery person did not feel safe leaving the package at that time. If an order is lost in shipment and we can provide documented delivery, the order will be replaced at the buyer's expense if products are available. We are not liable for packages left at your delivery address.
Why We Don't Offer Combined Shipping in 2025
We did have that policy of combining shipping the first year we were open (this is our 3rd year) but then realized it was not do-able. We ended up tearing through piles of orders looking for the right ones to match, after carefully writing the order # on each box, removing all the shipping charges from each order, combining orders and finding a new box that would fit them all, manually figuring out a new shipping rate and entering it into program. Sometimes we have to delay sending a particular order because a variety's eyes have not swollen/sprouted yet, which if there is multiple orders, delays the whole shipment. Sadly, we also found two orders (still remember them !!!) that had been mis-combined, and we had to reship those orders at our expense for all the tubers and shipping. By the second year, I realized we do not have the capability for this, as a mom-and-pop store. We found an app that would combine them, and bought that, but still found it was error-prone and confusing. So, like most shops out there, we gave it up. Sorry about this, we realize people really like reduced shipping charges.
